easy 4 with the team.

6.75 miles. good tempo run. me sky and carson ran it together. Jason was in there but he couldnt keep pace. we started WAY slow. 6:30ish pace and brought it all the way down to sub 5:20 pace. lol we did good. i lead for almost all of it with skylar next to me. Ready for the 3/3

Race: FRICK!!! i got out good 50 meters behind mitch. I was in 4th place behind Jason and Corbin so with mitch being so ahead i decided that i was gunning for 2nd. After the 2nd rootbeer it was me and Jason. Mitch was far ahead but i know that i have a much superior kick than jason so i was going to wait it out. 3rd lap blows by by far the hardest. i get to the station for my final rootbeer and I miss time a burp! so i threw up my lunch, which was all water based fruits such as grapes and watermelon. that caused me to get a DQ. later found out that jason ran a 7:06, man i couldve ran sub 7:(

3 miles in the morning.

11 miles in the afternoon. with some pick ups here and there overall wasn't that bad. wind blew chunk literally and figuritively. now that i have my life back together i can blog everyday now. tomorrow should be fun. have the a workout for the DMR. The good ole tradition where the 4x800 loser has to buy the 4x800 winner donuts and the 4x400. gonna be fun.

60/60's ran them with skylar and julian. good pace some i ran too fast. the rest were right on. skylar dropped out at like 13 or 14 julian decided to finish with me. we did good.

easy morning 30

 

2x10 minute tempo. first one was at 5:50 pace which is always cheese. the next one is at 5:3x pace, i never got in a rhythm i felt uncomfortable for some reason. i stuck along slowly moved my way right behind nick and finished pretty easy. 

next we had 2x300s with like 7 minutes recovery. i got out good and ran my first one at 39 low pretty good, the next one was a 41 low. so i did good proud of myself.

woke up and got a delicious mango and pinapple smoothie from my friend did 12 minutes of  warm and the race

Immediatly i felt like the lack of leg mobility but i didnt let that hinder me 29 high for my first 200, i was bosed inbetween the legend himself Kody Watts and some Woods Cross guy, me being 5'9 and both of them looking 6ft i was being bumped and elbowed, 400 split was a mid to high 60 i finally got around them and the 2 Woods Cross kids were like 10 meters ahead a gapped the kody, and the other woods cross guy and with 200 to go i was pushing, but it didnt feel all out. got passed with like 15 meters to go and finished 4th. STATE Q by .02 of a second! lol negative split my 800 race so thats cool. I just want to run the 800 every week maybe do a 1600. 

Side note: didn't do enough warm ill do like 18 next time. Legs didn't feel like jello after so i know i didnt run fast enough. i want my first 400 to be a 57. thats what i'll do next time.

am: easy run met conner arnell again it was cool.

Pm: hard workout we had a 400-600 at goal 800 pace my goal is a sub 1:56 so i was shooting for a 57 high or 58 low. first 400 was about a mid 58 and then i dropped out 30 meters later.

10 minute recovery

next was the 400s at mile pace (4:30) with one minute recovery. 67,68,68.

3 minutes recovery

400s at 800 pace (60)

60,62. these were hard with a minute recovery inbetween them.

then 2 400s at 800 goal pace (58)

62 then i ran 50 seconds for 300 meters and i felt that it was too slow so i dropped out.

totally fine with this workout since i haven't ran anything like this ever. will improve next week felt good.

0 in the morning cuz my knee was in serious pain,like couldn't bend it. so i took my rolling stick and rolled all day during school.

35 in the afternoon, i did 2 hills and on the third one i couldn't get my right knee to get higher and it hurt like a crazy. i stopped turned around and heading back to school. the whole time during the kids track meet this was on my mind so i wasn't all the way there.

am: woke up with the back of my knee feeling less painful, but i took one more day of rest to fully recovery it, it should be good by friday.

30 minutes easy with the usual 4x200 after pretty easy took them slower cuz of my knee.

did handoffs after with out 200 sprinter samson for out medley. we're a little rusty but once we get them off we'll be beast.

warmed up and my left shin was bugging me. but i wanted that record so i made it super warm lol. logan took us out in a 2:07 and that was what i thought he would get skylar ran a 2;05. and then i got the botton the first 400 I felt good I ran it really conservative in like a 60/61. then i felt a slight budge in my shin and i wanted to stop but i kept going ran a 2:03,less than desirable but i'll take it. nick ran like a 1:56/1:57. he kept us in there. we broke it happy day for us. i need to ice my shin.

3.5 in the morning. i was a little more late than usual.

6x800 at "1600 pace". I haven't ran it yet so i was just going with a time my goal was to go from 4;40 pace to 4:30 pace.  for lunch i had 2 pears and it gave me the runs :(, so my stomach was hurting from the warm-ups to post practice lifting. 10 minutes of warm up which i think is not enough. first one was 2:23. next one was 2:23. man this was frustrating. i thought about it for a minute and decided on doing 600s to hit the pace told nick and skylar about it cuz we weren't hitting out times. next one was a 1:45, then a 1:44. i was content i knew i should moved up to 700 meters on the next one, but the 5th one ended up being a 1:42. i was dead set on getting a sub 2:20. I was doing a good job of negative' or even splitting the 2nd half so i continued that way i hit 1:10 at 400, 1:45 at 600, and 2:20 at 800. i was satisfied. with spikes and more people racing i know i can get a sub 4:33.

left achilles felt very tender after iced it and was good. Weber finally emailed me. sub 1:56 is whay they told me. I'm feeling good :)

practice hand-offs with samson for our medley its gonna be a good race duking it out with uintah's medley team this week. They're good and we're good. we both can get under 3:38.

am_ 3 miles only cause my achilles was troubling me.

pm: Coe #1 it started out too easy then finished hard. started at 17.5 100 for my 4:40 Mile pr from last year and finished at a 25.5. 200 for my 400 in last years medley. i reckt my groin shutting down noobs in lacrosse, they call me the human hand-cuffs. it didnt hurt while doing the workout. once we did 10 second hills i had to sde step and i totally reckt it hard. ice and recovery now. :(

Warmed up and felt good going in the wind was blowing but I didn't let it unnerve me. I was gonna run fast. 

Gun pops, and i get out conservative back of the pack, lots of bumping but it was good. first lap 1:08 Good. i made a small surge but the whole pack did i main pack formed and i felt confident, the wind blew a big gust and everyong got hit with sand from the long jump pit, came in at 2:15 (1:07). I've never been in this position but i felt good slowly worked my way up to nick and game around at 3:25 (1:10). i started slowing down here and totally laid an egg this last lap. i was in contention to state qualify and i missed my opportunity. i felt good two. i just dont know what happened. it felt like a faught but it was a dissapointed 4th lap to 3 good laps before that. :(

am: did my senior ball day date, ate at the always delcious Bear Paw Cafe and then went and did the esacpe house which is like a mystery problem solving room where you try to escape. it was sick! anyways after that i dropped my date off and headed over to the track meet.

i got here 10 minutes before noon bought some otter pops and did a pre warm up of ike 10 minutes. after i ate my otter pops, i ran for 30 minutes warming up. and then chilled in the shade.

Race kawika and samson ran good then i got the button in 3rd slowly caught some noobs. on the backstretch i got bumped by some kid which caused me to step off the track. i did my best to atleast keep one foot on but i dont really remember how many steps i took off im gonna say it felt like 3. Anyways while i was off the track i had to quickly decide to either stop/slow way down to get back on the track or go around the kid and not lose my form/pace. i went around him now i was still behind some other kid i took to the outside which made me lost a ton of energy so and then i just kicked it in. passed him and held him off to give the baton to nick.

Won the race. Got DQ. Got Un-DQ, Broke the School Record. it was a wild day;)

am: i feel dumb because i thought i set my alarm but i set it to 5:55 PM. 

Pm: workout 1x400-600 at goal race 800 ( sub 1:56 ), 3x400 at current mile [ 4:45:( ] then 2x400 at current 800 (2:00) and finally 2x400 at goal 800.

first one was alright i got out in 58 a little off but i put in a surge and i got a 1:13.7 for 500. like 12 minutes of recovery. then 3 400s at 1:11 right on. felt good but the wind was making things hard. 2 more at 60,63 i think im not sure but it was less than impressive so i recomitted to having some good goal 400s. 58 and 58. good stuff. i think i can totally run a 1:56 this weekend. im totally ready. totally comfodant after seeing my name in the record board now:)

4 mile warm up, lol never again will i do a 4 mile warm up for an 800 it feels almost useless. 2.5 is good for me. anyway did warm-ups and stuff and got on the line

race went out and i got in good position 28 first 200 then i slowed when i got trapped in the back of the pack and came in at 60. after that i just basically cruised it in. dissapointing but i was freaking tired from the long run. i just need to put myself in postition to race.

4x400 was up and i got the baton in 4th and passed a dixie guy and didnt quit get the cedar guy. i ran like 51 so thats good. we missed a medal by .01. lol

workout was 6x300s at 800 pace. ran 46,45,45,45,45,44. it was freaking easy. i never strained once even with my illness. my goal for orem is sub 1:58. i want to open in a 58 low. so thatll be fun.

just chilled until my 800:

3 mile warm-up was feeling really good mentally, but physically i was feeling really crappy. my achilles was on fire for 2 miles of the warmup.

i asked the pt lady for biofreeze, but it was still hurting, did my agility like normal and got to the line. i was lined up 11th. i got out and it was probably the fastest 800 ive ever been a part of. i got out in a 57-58, surged and was at 71-72 for 500 meters. after that my achilles was burning. every step it felt like i was putting it on a hot stovee top. i finished with a 2:01.33 :/, ill take it. kinda want to run the 800 again, because i know i can run a 1:57. probably wont run it at region so if i dont run the 800 at herriman then state will be my last chance. which sucks. but i also want to quallify the 1600.

got the baton in 2nd wanted to get around the cedar guy, but i didnt have it in me my quads were mad sore from keeping my legs straight, as of this week i can't bend my knee properly without it hurting.

watched my good buddy nick run a killer 1600, proud to say that is one of my best friends. samson killed it and gave me the baton in 2nd place i got out decent and just stayed decent. usually i could pull a solid 400 split, but my legs weren't having it. ill take a 51 split. fun time.
